About the position

We are looking for a senior and business-driven Controller for Sibelco's Nordic team. In this role, you will become a strategic business partner to their cluster managers and drive financial planning, cost control, and performance management in line with global objectives.

This position is an exciting opportunity for someone who is self-driven, analytical, and has a strong interest in operational management and finance related to manufacturing. You will work in an international environment with complex flows and high demands for both accuracy and business acumen.

Sibelco is a global leader in material solutions. We extract, refine, and distribute industrial minerals and materials such as silica sand, feldspar, and olivine. Our site in Baskarp, which is the business cluster's headquarters, is beautifully located by the shores of Lake Vättern, where we primarily extract sand for industrial and sports use. The business cluster includes sites in Västerås, Rønne (Denmark), and Fossbekk and Spone (Norway).

The office is located in Baskarp, where there is an opportunity to work 2 days a week remotely.

In summary, your responsibilities will include:

• Being a business partner to the directors within Operations and Commercial
• Leading the work on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Delivering monthly performance analyses and comments on deviations from budget and forecast
• Monitoring and analyzing manufacturing costs, including standard costs, inventory, and production data
• Driving cost optimization in collaboration with production and supply chain
• Participating in and contributing to monthly closings and internal/external reporting
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), and local regulations
• Supporting investment decisions through business case analyses and ROI calculations
• Being an expert and coach in manufacturing controlling and standard cost processes
• Contributing to strategic projects such as automation, ERP upgrades, and business expansion

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree from a university in finance, economics, or equivalent
• Has at least five years of experience as a Controller, preferably with experience from the manufacturing industry/FP&A
• Has previously worked in SAP (or other similar systems)
• Has a good understanding of VAT regulations and accounting principles
• Is accustomed to working with analysis of large data sets and has strong business acumen
• Has excellent Excel skills and is used to presenting financial information clearly
• Has experience working in an international environment
• Speaks and writes English and Swedish fluently
